The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has announced there is a reward in the recent home invasion in the southwestern section of Gilmer County. The Times-Courier received the following press release from the Appalachian Judicial District Attorney’s Office:
“On Sunday, March 14, 2004, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the attempted home invasion of a local woman. The attempt occurred in the southwestern part of Gilmer county and was interrupted by the victim firing a gunshot at the intruder. The GBI collected evidence, including fingerprint evidence that is now being processed for identification. Witnesses were also interviewed. The investigation is ongoing.
“Any information concerning the incident should be directed to the GBI at their toll-free number 888-233-5680.
“A REWARD will be offered for information leading to the arrest of individuals involved.”
