Gilmer County has welcomed many newcomers to its fast growing little community. With the expanding population, new roads and homes it is more important than ever to clearly post 911 addresses on driveways and /or on homes.
Emergency personnel do not recognize lot numbers as addresses. Mobile home communities, or subdivisions, may assign these numbers. If there is any confusion with a 911 address please contact the 911 addressing office at 706-635-4653.
Also, if there have been any changes to property, house color or the completion of construction, contact the 911 office so information can be updated.
Keeping 911 address information current is the way to ensure the safety of the public and those responding to any emergencies.
